Neighborhood Association
The Avenida Guadalupe Association, Inc. (AGA) has represented the Avenida Guadalupe Neighborhood since 1979. Since that time when the AGA began its humble mission of a neighborhood association the AGA has grown and its mission has evolved with time. The AGA has become a major economic development agency on San Antonio's West Side focusing on projects that are important to a traditional neighborhood. Projects have ranged from constructing low-income senior housing and office space to property management and revitalization of city facilities to providing housing counseling and new homes to first time homebuyers. The AGA continues to embrace its role as both a Neighborhood Association and a Community Development Corporation.
While the AGA goes forward with its intricate economic development efforts, it also continues to be concerned about those issues that affect its residents. Citizens are encouraged to utilize the AGA as a resource to resolve those issues. The AGA’s Community Outreach Program is designed to increase neighborhood connectivity and cultural awareness. The AGA supplements our community outreach efforts by providing residents with contact information and events in which they can access social support services from local resources.
