The Avenida Guadalupe Association (Avenida) has launched three free access computer centers as part of the national Latino Technology Network (LTN) which seeks to provide technology and training access for low- to moderate- income Latinos.The computer centers will also be used to train and support small businesses in Avenida’s West Side community. Avenida joins the Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA) in collaboration with the National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders (NALCAB) in San Antonio along with 12 other community development organizations across the country.

The computer centers will assist in expanding existing community development programs as well as providing training in support of small business owners with curriculums offered in both English and Spanish. This access to computer technology and training is funded by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) under the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.The goal is to increase technology use by low-to-moderate income individuals and utilize technology to provide basic and specialized bilingual micro-entrepreneur computer training to Latino entrepreneurs. This added technological training enhances existing entrepreneurial training and other services already provided to the community by Avenida.

The centers opened by the Avenida are located at the Guadalupe Street Coffeehouse at 1320 Guadalupe Street, the Margarita Huantes Learning Center at 1411 Guadalupe Street and the Parian Business Center at 1410 Guadalupe Street.
